Glycerin IP 450gm is a topical emollient. Glycerin finds major application in treating and preventing dry skin condition. It acts like a moisturiser that decreases itching, flaking, and scaly skin. It forms a layer of oil on the skin to prevent the moisture from escaping.

Glycerine oral is used in the treatment of cerebral edema (swelling of the brain) and also for the reduction of brain volume during brain surgery. It is also used to treat certain conditions in which there is increased eye pressure, such as glaucoma. It may also be used before eye surgery to reduce pressure in the eye.
